Huge coffee = little difference

Image
Hello there, I was thinking about this post entry through few days and I decided to clear up a little this freshness of coffee. Actually, I know that this freshness costs an arm and a leg, so I chose a packet of 1kg "concern" coffee, which is decidedly cheaper than the freshest, to do a comparison. Couldn't be the concern coffee fresh too? Supposedly it could, but it's impossible to check :), manufacturers like that do not give a roast date. I bought two of Lavazza coffee bean, "Qualita ORO" and "Crema e Gusto". I prepared it by 24 second time of 94°C water. Result was a little surprising to me. Exactly it was potable :), I mean, Qualita ORO as espresso was even better than badly roasted 2 weeks coffees... The recipes for the best latte with Crema e Gusto: -Double espresso shot -Chocolate syrup  -Frothed milk And to decorate chocolate chips or cacao powder :) Why I wrote it? I know a lot of people for whose the best coffee is that one pr

Hello there, Today we're visiting coffee room "Bardzo". Our review is based only on coffee review the place is lovely, but coffee is what we are tasting ;). By the way, Bardzo is coffee room placed at Żydowska street in Poznań, near to oldtown. So, we've ordered drip (Peru fruit beans) and latte with rice-hazelnut milk. What we have to say? It's worth of waiting :) Drip is very expressive and this milk is something unbelievable. That's all, MB

Strong enough

Hello there, Do you remember the coffee that I mentioned in the last post entry? That one which time of freshness keeps for 3 months. So today I want to give you some information about it. Well, it's darkly roasted coffee with a mysterious sticker on package... I think that's a strong woman, but maybe it's a picture that shows how somebody could feel after drinking it, I don't know, but it's kind of funny picture, look at it!   So, the aesthetic part we have done, it's good to get down to the taste. Its destination is rather to express machine or French pot than to Chemex or Dripper, because of dark roasted level. It contains 100 % of arabica coffee beans, but it's not a single origin, well it comes from Brazil, Guatemala, Salvador, Costa Rica and India. The taste is quite good, I mean, not surprising, but also not disappointing. It's a good gift for someone who we don't know so much. I'm talking (writing) about espresso, in the cause of

"Freshly" roasted

Hello there :) Why have I put freshly in inverted commas? It's realy simple, becuase it's only an another marketing trick. If I'am looking for freshly roasted coffee it means that the coffee had to be roasted no later than two months ago... Anyway I am very lenient with that date, because I've read (not once) that the best virtues of coffee are only through four weeks after roast. Know I'm drinking a coffee which roaster says that perserve the best virtues through three months... To be honest I don't like the very fresh coffee, I mean you can buy on the Internet and they will roast it before send, In my personal opinion I prefer to wait about two weeks at least before brewing, so I think that the optimum date is one month after and it's based on my experience, you have to remember that at the moment of purchase 1kg of coffee beans it has two months, but it will have at least three with a last cup. That's all. See ya! MB

Italy in Poland?

Hello there, The truth is that much time has passed since my last post entry. The main reason of that set-up was an examination session (positive btw.).  Yesterday I was in Etno Cafe, it is roastroom and chain of coffee shops with the same name from Wroclaw, and decided to buy a little package of "freshly" roasted dark coffee named Itialian Roast. Well, that story I'll continue in the next post :). During this hard time I had, I was preparing only alternative types of coffee. It were not so high quality coffee beans, I mean, no speciality. Rosting-room is Audun Coffee, one of the best in the world, I decided to buy a coffee which had been destinated rather to pour-over express. I tried it with almost all of kind of pour-over methods (exactly: Chemex, Hario Driper V2, Aeropress, Frenchpress) taking as a base 6g of coffee on every 100g of water. It was amazing experience, because every time the taste was different, so I'm not able to compare it, but I can say that
