Hello there! It's snowy outside :). When is a better moment to brew a little espresso, sit down with a book or laptop and admire nature through the window :). So, Today I've a comparison of two quite good espresso coffees of those 10 coffees to try. If you want to learn about how give I notes or which method are preferable, please check previous posts. Etiopia Dijmmah:  Taste profile (by manufacturer): Fresh Cucumber, spicy taste Opininon: A= 3,5/5, L=5/5 !, E=4,25/5 Why: Cucumber :) (it's not a joke!). For Alternative way it's eatable . Well, for Latte it's not mine note, but she was delighted. Espresso was good enough to drink it and not keep it for guests :). Kolumbia Excelso: Taste profile (by manufacturer): sweet fruits, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, green peas Opinion: A=2/5, L=4,5/5, E=4,5/5 Why: It was the best espresso of all this ten coffees, but Alternative was truly unbearable :). It's all for today. See ya! MB

Christmas = Christmas sales and blends

Hello there! Well, we're in December. Every year at this period manufacturers storm us with their products of all kind. One of my favourite online-shops offered a very good coffee beans at the very beneficial price, it's related to their action-sale Coffee of the month,  so I've ordered it. The coffee room is Hard Beans , the name is Fazenda Caxambu, darkroasted for espresso. It was a good break up for the my test of 10 different coffees, here we've speciality coffee beans, so that means selected ones, also very high level of roasters makes it the highest quality coffee. Every aspect of this one is perfect for me. The truth is that this coffee has occupied the top of my favourite coffee's list, for now, it can compete with Kofi Brasil  of KofiBrand (my favourite). Profil taste (manufacturer's information): Moka, cashew nuts, orange. It's awasome as espresso, but copes with milk and other brewing like moka express. A good company for espresso of this o...

El Salvador and Brazil

Image
Hello there This post will be the same as last one, because it's continuation of taste series. Today, I'll present coffee of Brazil and El Salvador. With every brew, unfortunately, I've been realizing that the roast grade is accidental... But anyway I prepare the same brewings, i.e., Espresso, Latte, Alternative one (usually in Chemex). So this two were quite good. It is my subjective note. For more information about how I'm brewing and appraising it please read the last update. Salwador SHG: Taste profile (of manufacturer): cinnamon and spicy with berries aftertaste. Opinion: Alternative=3/5, Latte=4/5, Espresso=3,5/5. Why: Roasted to dark to conserve the taste as an alternative, in espresso was like others, I mean, nothing original. Brazylia Santos: Taste profile (of manufacturer): mango, melon, orange and black tea.  Opinion: Alternative: 3,25/5, Latte=4/5, Espresso=4/5. Why: Like Salwador roasted to dark and it's impossible to extract tha...

Honduras and Costa Rica

Image
Hello there, I've tested the two of them, but first I'll describe methodology. Every coffee get three notes, they are very subjective, well, those are on a scale of 1 to 5 and relate to types of coffee, which are alternative (usually brewed  in Chemex), espresso and latte. To be honest, for alternative one is average note of mine and my girlfriend, latte is her opinion and espresso clearly mine. The last thing, Alternative method: 89°C of water temperature, 30 g of grinded coffee (always the same size), extraction time: max. 4 min. Honduras SHG: Taste profile (by Roaster room): almonds, dark chocolate, sweetness of peach. Opinion: Alternative= 3,5/5, Espresso=1/5, Latte=0/5. Why: The taste in espresso was awful, but coffee was brightroasted (only in this case), so its destination was Alternative, nothing personal :). Kostaryka SHB: Taste profile (by Roaster room): dark chocolate, nuts, clove(!). Opinion: Alternative= 3/5, Espresso= 4, Latte= 4. Why: This clove was so...

Finally arrived !!!

Hello there, Like I said in the last update, today I'll review a pack of 10 different coffees. I've bought it in a haphazard way, well... I wanted something new and fresh, this Roaster room has been totally unknown by me.  The list of coffees: Nikaragua SHG (Nicaraguan one) Exclusive Blend (blend of Arabic and Robust coffee 9/1) Kostaryka SHB (of Costa rica) Peru HB MCM Salwador (from El Salvador) Kolumbia Excelso (Colombian) Kongo Kivu (Congo) Etiopia Djimmah (Ethiopia) Brazylia Santos (Brazil) Honduras SHG The truth is, those are different of description from their website... Exactly three of them. Other thing which I'm rating among cons is fault of roast grade at packaging. To be true I can say that the first impression is very negative: late sending, not exactly the same products like in description, fault of roast grade description. I hope that the taste will be a huge pro to compensate me for those cons. That's all, Next I'll review 2 or ...

Accidental coffee

Image
Hello there, I've ordered coffee beans, but supplier didn't send it at the right moment... so I've to wait. Well this is introduce to next post, which will be a comparison of 10 kinds of coffee from all of the world, but roasted in Wroclaw. Nowadays this city has so much coffee-roasted rooms, I think, the most number of Poland. They've to work with organisation, because it's at a very low level. The story starts here, I was shopping in one of Swedish stores and suddenly in front of my eyes appeared freshly roasted coffee... well, that was novelty of this shop, like it said personnel. There were three kinds of coffee: Columbia, Chocolate and Gorilla. I'm kind of curious person, so the choice was simply: Gorilla. The truth is that it isn't kind of my favorite coffee :(. With milk it is possible to drink, but like espresso shot it's terrible and the same is with mokka expres, in french press is quite good. I'm waiting for delivery, I hope it will be...

Coffee mug

Image
Hello there,    Have you ever noticed that the cost of mug can starts over 10 zł (3$)? Well, the question is why it has not an ending prize? At first, we have to divide categories of mugs, because it can be at least produced of every material: paper, ceramic, metal, plastic, aluminium and all of kind materials that is impermeable to water. I will not write about papers ones, because their cost is lower than 10 zł and we can find it everywhere. How about ceramic? Nowadays, ceramic is common material, well is in fashion. You can buy it everywhere, but if you need it to go, you can easily buy it with a silicone lid. The cost starts of 49 zł, it has its points like: is in fashion, there is a lot of patterns. The negative features are more like: is heavy, uncomfortable, if it is fulled with hot water, it's burning, fragile.      And plastics ones are in the middle of this comparison, because are not so fragile like ceramic, but can't keep a warm so long like me...
